The 18-year-old forward for United played in all seven games in July.
That was enough for him to win the award over Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial, who were also on his team.
On the Manchester United app, he got 46% of the votes.
And as he stood for pictures at United’s Carrington training ground, Greenwood had cling film wrapped around his right forearm. It’s not clear what the fresh ink is supposed to mean, though.
In United’s next game, he scored the second goal in an important 3-0 win at Aston Villa with another powerful finish from just outside the box. This is becoming Greenwood’s signature move.
He didn’t score against Southampton, Crystal Palace, or Chelsea, but he scored a key goal against West Ham to save a draw.
This put United ahead of Leicester and meant that a tie on the last day was enough to get into the top four. Greenwood had a great month. In the three games he scored in, he was named man of the match.
His club award stops Fernandes from winning three times in a row. Since he arrived in January, Fernandes has been in great shape.
And Greenwood, who just turned 18 in October, is the youngest United player of the month since Marcus Rashford broke out in February 2016.
