A cactus creeping through the desert.
Stepocereus eruca, famously known as the creeping devil, is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable cacti out there. And why wouldn’t it be? After all, it has this unique characteristic of crawling on the ground.
This unique location is native to the central Pacific coast of Baja California Sur and is found exclusively in sandy soils, where it forms massive colonies. While transplanting is not recommended due to environmentally specific factors, it can be successfully done if strict maintenance conditions reflecting the native habitat are met. This means you can have a spooky cactus in your own garden!
