Serena Williams takes a back seat as she watches Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz compete in the gold medal match at the Olympics

Serena Williams appeared at the Olympic tennis matches one more time.

Except, this time, she was a spectator there to watch Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain‘s Carlos Alcaraz battle for the gold medal.

The Golden Slam winner, 42, was engrossed in the final match of the Men’s Singles Tournament for these Olympics.

Her blonde curls were down and were in contrast to her black letterman’s jacket, tank top, pants and sunglasses.

With his win, Dkokovic becomes just the fifth player in tennis history to win the Golden Slam as a singles player, joining Rafael Nadal, Serena, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf.

Serena Williams appeared at the Olympic tennis matches one more time as she watched Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain ‘s Carlos Alcaraz battle for the gold medal on Sunday

The game was a rematch of the 2024 Wimbledon final, wherein Novak defeated his rival 7-6 7-6 in the men’s singles final at the Stade Roland-Garros on Sunday afternoon.

In doing so he claimed Serbia’s second gold medal in Paris and the country’s eighth as an independent nation in their history.

After securing an Olympic title on his fifth attempt, Djokovic commented that the win is ‘arguably the greatest’ success of his glittering career.

Serena was very into the match, showing a range of emotions as it progressed to its conclusion.

During the game, the Compton, California native was seen talking to IOC President Thomas Bach.

Meanwhile, Serena’s husband Alexis Ohanian, 41, recently joined forces with rapper Flavor Flav, 65, to support another Olympic competitor.

Both men jumped in to help U.S. team member Veronica Fraley, who competes as a track and field discus thrower, who posted the night before her event that she couldn’t pay her rent on X (formerly Twitter).

‘I compete in the Olympic Games TOMORROW and can’t even pay my rent my school only sent about 75% of my rent while they pay football players (who haven’t won anything) enough to buy new cars and houses,’ she shared.

Wasting little time, hip-hop legend Flavor Fav stepped in to help put the discus throwers mind at ease so she can focus on the task at hand.

Less than 10 minutes later, Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, jumped into the conversation and offered his assistance.

‘C’mon now! I’ll split it with @flavorfav,’ the businessman replied.

Less than two hours later, Ohanian took back to X and wrote, ‘Update! It is done,’ he simply wrote in a post, along with another message saying Fraley was paid out $7,760.
