Players from Indonesia drive an odd 8-wheeled Toyota Vios

Most custom cars serve a purpose, such as increasing performance on the track, improving off-road ability to conquer challenging terrain…

However, there are also some extremely monstrous custom cars that offer no real benefit, such as the 8-wheel Toyota Vios by Roni Gunawan (West Java, Indonesia). Roni Gunawan owns the local Gemah Ripah taxi company.

According to information from PricePrice, this Toyota Vios costs about 90 million Rupiah (equivalent to 144.8 million VND).

Based on the front-wheel drive Toyota Vios sedan, the special car is installed with 2 additional pairs of rear wheels. In it, a pair has ground contact like in a 6-wheeled vehicle. However, the other pair of wheels are mounted in a higher position, and do nothing but look “cool”.

The additional wheel bearings are mounted on a custom steel frame, welded inside the rear of the vehicle. The fabricator also welded more steel plates and support braces to carry the additional weight.

While all the additional wheels come with full brake discs, they do not increase braking force but simply leave the wheel bolted to the standard bearing, with no adjustments required.

To fit 6 wheels at the rear, the body of the Toyota Vios has been significantly changed. Accordingly, the door and rear seats have been removed to make room for additional wheels.

Along with that, the interior of the car has also been customized to match the look, and is complete with a backlit audio system with LEDs of the same color.

The car has some disadvantages that the rear seats are completely gone to make room for the extra wheels. Wheel and tire costs have increased by about 100% compared to an inventory Toyota Vios.

This is really a different Toyota Vios, and shows the limitless creativity of the tuners. Although the final result may not convince everyone, the car is still considered a unique work of art.
