Kefir, a Maine Coon who lives with his human Yulia Minina in Stary Oskol, Russia, is one of the most recent felines to create waves online. A cat’s absolute unit is so huge that he’s sometimes mistaken for a dog.
Minina acquired Kefir when he was a kitten over two years ago, not realizing that he would grow to be over 27 pounds. He’s past the higher end of the Maine Coon size spectrum, which normally tapers off about 25 pounds, at this weight.
Kefir, on the other hand, does not allow his towering size get the best of him. He’s a lovely cat who is “extremely clever and always acts peacefully,” according to his master. He doesn’t mind being the center of attention and having his hair touched by friends and strangers alike, unlike some cats.
