The third edition of the humanitarian and sports spectacle Gem Set Croatia organized by the Marin Čilić Foundation in Zadar
Today, the crème de la crème of Croatian sports gathered at Višnjik in Zadar, all to try their hand at tennis for humanitarian purposes.
Marin Čilić and his foundation brought to Zadar, the city of basketball, respectable names from various sports who delighted the packed stands with their moves.
In addition to Čilić, the following people came to this spectacle: Eduardo da Silva, Valent Sinković, Ivica Zubac, Dario Šarić, Matea Jelić, Valentina Mrnjavčić Pereglin, Filip Zubcić, Andrej Gaćina, Andrija Stipanović, Ante Žižić, Zoran Planinić, Danijel Subašić, Manuel Štrlek, Anđelo Kvesić, Doris Bačić, Borna Gojo, Tin Srbič, Luka Stepančić, Martin Sinković, Zrinka Ljutić, Stipe Žunić, Mate Pavić, Ivano Balić, Ivan Ljubičić and Luka Modrić, who said that he is doing very well with the brush and the treseta.
While his former teammate from the national team, the retired goalkeeper of the Croatian national team Danijel Subašić, was on the field, the game was stopped for a moment to present Luka Suba with a golden log.
“At least something golden”, commented a good-humored Subasic.
The money collected from this campaign is intended for the construction of a sports field in Stankovci.
“They do physical education in the school corridor because they have nowhere else to go,” revealed Marin Čilić.
Ivan Ljubičić returned from Wimbledon a few hours ago, managed to arrive in Zadar:
“I’m really glad that such a Foundation has continuity. The first year is the easiest, people get fired up, but creating a tradition is demanding and Marin succeeded in that.” – Gol.hr reports his impressions.
“When I started the Foundation, the idea was to make something that works systematically, to make it somewhat traditional, to help the community year after year. I did not expect that it would grow like this, that a beautiful story would reach these levels. In any case, top notch.” said Marin Cilic.
“The first two events were in Šalata and then in Petrinja, where it was really emotional. It was really nice and four playgrounds were built from all those funds,” Čilić pointed out with pride.
