The Ford F-650 stands out as a pickup truck of such extreme proportions that it dwarfs and overshadows its fellow counterparts, rendering them diminutive and modest by comparison.
Since the year 2000, Ford has been producing the F-650, offering them in their most basic configuration, featuring a stripped-down cabin and an open chassis bed. This utilitarian approach is due to the fact that the majority of F-650s find purpose in commercial applications, being transformed into an array of vehicles including tow trucks, refuse collectors, and delivery vans. Nevertheless, a select few companies have taken the initiative to transform F-650 models into consumer-oriented pickups.
Recently, Doug DeMuro was granted the opportunity to experience one of these unique specimens. The specific F-650 in question hails from a company called Super Trucks and derives its power from a 6.7-liter PowerStroke V8 engine generating an impressive 330 horsepower and a staggering 750 lb-ft (1017 Nm) of torque.
