Despite losing half of its body, a “zombie shark” continues to search for food

THIS is the astonishing moment a researcher spotted a shark that was still hunting for its prey – despite being “half eaten”.

The scientist was startled as he watched the injured beast ravaged in a cannibalistic attack while releasing an oceanic black tip shark into the sea.

Despite being half-eaten by other sharks when scientists released it into the sea, a ‘zombie shark’ has been observed actively seeking for prey.

These included many bull sharks, which may weigh up to 400kg, according to the biologist.

Despite the onslaught with a huge chunk of its body missing after being bitten off, the shark fought for its life and attempted to swim away.

The shark struggled for around 20 minutes before eventually succumbing to its injuries

Dr. Lebtrato stated that the shark fought for almost 20 minutes before succumbing to its injuries.

He said: “Sharks eat sharks, that is well known, but it is super difficult to film and document.”

The seals attempt to keep together but eventually separate, and the shark seizes the opportunity to attack.

The apex predator rushes up from below with its jaws wide open, showing hundreds of razor-sharp fangs in a terrifying turn of speed.
