The Lakers’ decision to keep forward Rui Hachimura on staff was one of the most important aspects of their summer. At the trade deadline the previous year, the franchise acquired him in exchange for guard Kendrick Nunn and three second-round choices. Hachimura was a priority given the amount of draft capital that the Lakers expended to acquire him.

To secure his future in Los Angeles, Hachimura and the Lakers reached an agreement on a new three-year extension. He soon won over the support of the crowd and was essential in helping them win the Western Conference Finals last year. He aided LA in the postseason by not only scoring the ball but also defending big men on the rιval teams.

When the spotlight was on him, Hachimura improved. He scored 12.2 points and grabbed 3.6 rebounds a game on average, but it was his shooting that really stood out. His three-point percentage increased to 48.7 percent, and he developed into a long-range snιper.

Compared to his 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds from the field during the regular season, he shot only 29.6 percent from beyond the arc. In the postseason, he changed into a different player for the Lakers, which aided in getting him a new $51 million deal.

Hachimura is still working on getting ready for the upcoming season throughout the offseason. This involves various training schedules, and he recently shared some images of himself exercising. It made Laker supporters eager to see what he can contribute in the upcoming season. Hachimura ought to be more at ease and prepared to go going into the 2023 campaign. He has a few months of experience playing as a Laker and is aware of the team’s ultimate objective. Hachimura will play a significant role in this season’s overall success because he is LA’s go-to player.
