Aryna Sabalenka was on cloud nine after ending her trophy draught since winning the Australian Open in January this year. In the final at the Cincinnati Open, a formidable Sabalenka registered a comprehensive 6-3, 7-5 win over home favorite Jessica Pegula.

Following the victory, Sabalenka ran toward her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, who was in the stands of the Center Court watching the Belarusian win the title. A jubilant Sabalenka embraced and kissed Frangulis, the clip of which has been doing rounds on social media. Her fitness coach, Jason Stacy, also tried to hide their kiss with his hands.

It was also Sabalenka’s 15th career trophy. After the win, she posed with the trophy for the cameras, smiling ear to ear. Frangulis, who is also the founder of Oakberry Acai, shared the picture on his Instagram Story writing how prettier she looked while holding the trophy.

Sabalenka confirmed her relationship with Frangulis in May this year. She has often posted romantic pictures of them on her social media accounts.

Aryna Sabalenka, known for her humorous winner’s speech, had a slip-up when she was thanking Georgios Frangulis. The 26-year-old, instead of paying tribute to her ‘boyfriend’, ended up uttering ‘boyfriends’ before blaming English for her mistake.

Sabalenka will now shift her focus on the upcoming US Open, which gets underway on August 26th. She has come close to winning the title at Flushing Meadows in 2023 by reaching the final where she was beaten in three sets by Coco Gauff.

Sabalenka is a two-time Grand Slam champion, winning the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024. Before her successful campaign at the Cincinnati Open, Sabalenka played the Citi Open and the Canadian Open but reached the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively. Sabalenka also skipped the Paris Olympics due to scheduling and health reasons.
